Introduction to Peanuts
On October 2, 1950 the Peanuts newspaper strip first appeared. It was
carried in only seven newspapers.
On January 3, 2000 Charles Schulz bid farewell to all his readers in
the final daily Peanuts newspaper strip. On February 12, 2000
Charles Schulz passed away in Santa Rosa, CA at the age of 77 years.
The next day the final Sunday Peanuts newspaper strip appeared.
In between, along with thousands of newspaper strips there were
greeting cards, books, toys, TV specials, Christmas ornaments, dishes,
drinking glasses, clothing, computer games and countless other items.
Some questions remain.
