Introduction to Caillou

Caillou books were written by Christine L'Heureux and illustrated by Helene Desputeaux. Many of the stories in the movies begin with a teacher (also the show's narrator) introducing the story to her students, then reading the story out of the book. The original books were written in French in Quebec. On TV the series was originally aired in the French-speaking region of Quebec, Canada, and the episodes were later translated into English. Caillou has received various awards, including Bronze World Medal from the New York Festivals. Caillou was designed primarily for toddlers aged between two and six years old and was created by child developmental psychologists.
