Introduction to Austin Powers

The popularity of the three Austin Powers movies can not be denied. Austin Powers International Man of Mystery in 1997 and Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me in 1999 were followed by Austin Powers in Goldmember in 2002. It would be great if another Austin Powers feature film were produced.

Austin Powers, the swinging international man of mystery, going up against his arch rival Dr. Evil, is always funny and entertaining. Mike Meyers as Austin Powers always emerges with a beautiful companion. In International Man of Mystery, Mike worked with Elizabeth Hurley as Vanessa Kensington. In The Spy Who Shagged Me he shagged Heather Graham as Felicity Shagwell and finally in Goldmember he is with Beyoncé Knowles, of Destiny's Child, as Foxxy Cleopatra.

The movies are all bizarre and weird. In spite of that, Austin is completely lovable. He is a happy and strangely successful spy. Director and series veteran Jay Roach says "Austin Powers is the Bugs Bunny of spy movies." The constant theme song in all of the films, is the 1962 Quincy Jones piece, Soul Bossa Nova.
